Hands Across the Water: because we believe all children deserve a future full of possibilities

In 2024, ICEF’s Rod and Cathy Hearps are taking on another huge cycling challenge, journeying 500 km across Thailand, in aid of the very worthy charity; Hands Across the Water.

Hands Across the Water [Hands] started as a charity in response to the 2004 Boxing Day Tsunami and now supports 350+ children living and learning in 7 homes and projects across Thailand.

Hands not only provides the life-saving necessities for the kids in their homes, they also support many families in outreach programmes.

To support Rod and Cathy in this experience you can make a donation today to support these children and provide them with a better future.

Supporting learning initiatives worldwide

The ICEF Education Fund is an integral part of ICEF’s mission to support learning initiatives around the world, with the goal of providing equal access to the transformative power of education for all.

Over the years, ICEF has supported a number of charities and NGOs committed to breaking the cycle of poverty and directing resources where they can do the most good, partnering with organisations around the world to provide funding, support, and much-needed awareness for their causes. With over three decades’ experience in the international education industry, facilitating connections between a range of partners from all aspects of the sector, ICEF has both the reputation and the reach to make a difference. We are proud to have supported projects that have made a tangible difference to the lives of young people in some of the most challenging parts of the world.

ICEF can look back across partnerships which have supported young people affected by a range of issues, including poverty, disease and natural disasters, such as the Zimbabwe Rural Schools Development Programme; the Mayana Memorial Scholarship Fund, Uganda; Seva Mandir, India; CEAC@DIGITAL, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; CYDD, Turkey; Step Up, Russia, DESGUA, Guatemala; Plan International, Nepal; Bosana Foundation, Bosnia Herzegovina; Meet Kate Foundation, Ghana; Caribbean Education Foundation, Jamaica; La Esperanza Granada, Nicaragua; and the ICEF Scholar Foundation, Myanmar.

Please join us in making a difference to the lives of young people less fortunate than yourself. We encourage you to consider how you and your organisation can become a real force for good in the world. As former US senator Bob Kerrey once said: “Unexpected kindness is the most powerful, least costly, and most under-rated agent of human change.”
